The Sisters and lay employees at Mercy Hospital in Mount Vernon, Ohio had many heavy responsibilities, but they still found joy in the everyday. The hospital’s pet parakeet, Cedric, was usually a great source of that joy until one day in October 1952 when he decided to go on an adventure and worry his dear caretakers considerably!
Cedric the parakeet had the Sisters of Mercy Hospital worried until they were able to find him and bring him home!
