Bishop’s maiden visit to the residence of the SCNs- Kenya. Bishop Willybard Kitogho Lagho of Malindi Diocese paid his first visit to the residence of the Sisters of Charity of Nazareth on July 03, 2021. Bishop Lagho was installed as the new Bishop of Malindi Diocese on March 19, 2021, after a month that the Sisters of Charity of Nazareth arrived in the diocese. Since he was from Mmopasa Archdiocese he was new to Malindi Diocese. Therefore his first goal was to visit all the parishes, outstations, religious houses, and institutions.
He visited St. Paul Parish and all its outstations. On July 03 he visited St. Francis Assisi outstation church at Marereni where the Sisters of Charity of Nazareth reside. After the Mass, he, accompanied by the priests and the pastoral council executive visited the residence of the Sisters. The parish executive updated the Bishop on the history of the convent and the work of the Sisters so far. They commented on the home visits done by the Sisters walking to distant villages. They also told the needs of the Sisters such as a booster pump for running water in the house and a fence for the compound. The Sisters of Charity of Nazareth appreciated the visit of the Bishop and thanked him for his encouragement and support.
Good news of the Bishop’s visit and his offering of support and encouragement!
Nice to see your Bishop visiting you. Am glad in such a short time you have been able to make contacts and the people took a notice of it to report about it to the Bishop. Keep on being the shepherds, Vinaya and Philo
I will go to the Kenyan Mass in a Quincy Church on Sunday to pray for your needs. I have met some of the parishoners from Nairobi and one from Kenya. Church is right here in Quincy MA.
