Update from LIFE

October 12, 2020

Sister Carlette Gentle is now back in Belize and at home after quarantine. She returned to working at LIFE with seniors of Belize City. “Now more than ever we are trying hard to assist the seniors on Southside during this time of the pandemic,” she says.

Groceries along with cleaning supplies are now delivered to each individual needing food assistance. A hot home-cooked meal is made and delivered to seniors in a support group. Community health workers and staff carry out safe home visits when possible. Calls are made to each senior weekly to keep connected with them and monitor their health. Care cards are hand made and delivered to each senior to let them know they are being thought of. Transportation service is also still offered.

Sister Carlette says, “As the number of Covid cases and deaths continues to rise in Belize we at LIFE continue to seek creative ways to support our seniors in their homes. I thank you for all the prayers and support.”
