On Sunday, July 26, all are invited to the Cathedral of the Assumption, 433 South Fifth St, Louisville, Kentucky, for the unveiling and blessing of the Mother Catherine Spalding statue, created by artist Raymond Graf. You are welcome to the 12 p.m. Mass at the Cathedral. The statue unveiling and blessing is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. This installation of the Mother Catherine Spalding statue will make history as the first statue of a woman on public land in Louisville, Kentucky.

The pouring of the bronze for the statue was recently held at the Bright Foundry in Louisville. In the video below you can watch as the statue goes from the mold and begins to take it’s final shape. The pouring was witnessed by many of those involved with the creation of the statue and under the direction of the artist.
