Sisters of Charity of Nazareth joined with the LouCity & Racing Foundation and the Hamida Nadim Memorial Fund to explore collaborative efforts benefiting youth and families in Louisville. The Foundation, dedicated to supporting refugee families, had recently launched the Hamida Nadim Memorial Fund in honor of international soccer star, Nadia Nadim’s mother, symbolizing Nadia’s remarkable journey from Afghanistan to Denmark, where soccer became a unifying force across diverse backgrounds.

Nadia’s inspiring story, marked by a successful soccer career and a medical doctorate, served as the catalyst for the Foundation’s mission to employ soccer as a universal language for imparting valuable life skills. This partnership between the Foundation and the Sisters aimed to foster positive relationships and community among children from diverse backgrounds.

The collaboration’s impact was publicly acknowledged during a recent game, where the Sisters were invited onto the field. Amidst cheers from the crowd, The Sisters of Charity of Nazareth took center stage. In a heartwarming moment, Racing Louisville acknowledged their invaluable support for the Hamida Nadim Memorial Fund, a lifeline for refugee families, thanks to the LouCity and Racing Foundation. The Sisters’ dedication to charitable work in the community earned them resounding applause and gratitude.
