MCP PROGRAM
The Missionary Cooperative Program was conceived in the 1930’s in the United States as an organized way to help mission-sending religious communities to solicit funds for their mission efforts and educate parishioners on the vital work of the missions.
The MCP (Mission Cooperative program) is an essential program to support missionary work throughout the universal church. It allows us to share the stories of the Sisters of Charity of Nazareth, provide mission education, and make lasting connections with people. The program also helps promote vocations to the missions in the hearts of young people. Each year we count on a team of SCNs and Associates to give the Mission Appeals.
The Mission Appeal weekends are usually in the summer months of June, July, and August. Some dioceses extend the appeal until the end of September. The MCP is an important source to help give financial support to our ministries. In a three year period we have raised over $137,00. This is a significant support for SCN ministries. Frequently, people who have heard a mission appeal continue to donate regularly to the Sisters of Charity of Nazareth.
