Sisters of Charity of Nazareth are continuing their response to devastating flooding in Nepal. After providing emergency relief, Sisters and partners are expanding efforts to support 175 families with health services, sanitation, educational materials and assistance for children returning to school as affected communities begin the long process of recovery.

Rising floodwaters in Bihar brought destruction and uncertainty, along with a call to solidarity. In response to the needs of people affected by the flooding, members of the Patna Archdiocese met Monday, Sept. 7, 2026, at St. Xavier’s B.Ed. College in Patna. Sisters Elsy Kotteriyil and Priyanka Murmu attended.

The Record, newspaper of the Archdiocese of Louisville, recently featured the Sisters of Charity of Nazareth and their response to the catastrophic flooding in Nepal.
