SCNs in Pittsburgh Celebrate Jubilees

Sisters of Charity of Nazareth in Pittsburgh had a special liturgy and festive meal on Sunday, Sept. 25, 2022, to celebrate our Patron St. Vincent De Paul. The occasion also honored six Sisters who were celebrating over 400 years of combined dedicated service to the poor in the spirit of St. Vincent.

Sisters of Charity of Nazareth, Patna Province, celebrated the Diamond Jubilee of Mary Scaria Menonparampil, SCN; the Golden Jubilee of SCNs Ann Muthukattil, Janice Rathappillil, Mary John Nadackal, Marina Thazhathuveettil, Rose Plathottathil and Teresa Madasserry, and Silver Jubilee of SCNs Deena Vazhaparampil and Suchita Kullu on Oct. 3, 2022, at Nazareth Convent Mokama.

INDIA 75: The Pioneers

We continue our chronicle of the SCN mission to India as we learn of the six Sisters who were chosen to be the pioneer group to travel to Mokama in 1947.

INDIA 75: Mother Ann Sebastian’s Letter

To celebrate 75 years in India, we will follow the journey of our Pioneer Sisters. Our story begins more than a year before the departure of our Sisters for India, with a letter written by Mother Ann Sebastian, dated May 7, 1946.
