Students Serving with LIFE

LIFE Belize was once again blessed to have physical, occupational, and speech therapist students from Alvernia University visit in order to aid and assist some of the seniors in the program. From Jan. 16-19, the students and their faculty supervisors along with LIFE’s staff visited seniors in their homes to offer some much-needed therapy.

LIFE can not normally provide such services so the relationship with Alvernia University is an important and mutual one. LIFE staff gets trained in some of the techniques by watching and personal training from the group. Alvernia students also get to practice under the guidance of their professors while our seniors get the therapy that they desperately need.

We are thankful to them for their continuous service.

Wonderful service given to many – those in need of therapy and those learning! Professors, likely learning, as well, what the needs are in another culture for the benefit of future students and patients!

  2. Rosemarie Kirwan

This is such a good example of cooperation between groups that results in advancement of services that could not be achieved independently.
