Steps To Sustainability

January 12, 2024

The beauty of nature and the diversity of beings on Earth have intrinsic value. The preservation of the earth is necessary for the survival of humans. Over the years, the Sisters of Charity of Nazareth have been committed to implementing the seven objectives proposed in Laudato Si’ in their personal lives as well as in their ministry.

Sister Sincy Sebastian, the principal, believes in the ancient Chinese proverb, “The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.” That single step began with toddlers to promote awareness of the vital beauty of nature and conserving the environment.

A fancy dress competition was conducted on January 6, 2023, in Nazareth Pre-school in Chandapura. The main theme of the competition was “Saving the Earth.” The students were vividly decked in theme-appropriate apparel. The theme included the topics, “Trees and Seasons, National Leaders, and Flowers, Our Friends.”

It was a visual feast to witness the kindergarten children promenade in their innovative and colorful costumes designed by their parents. The meticulously chosen topics aided kids in growing in nature-based learning and enhancing their academic performance and critical thinking. Blooming buds of the nursery and LKG seem to be exquisite gifts of nature. The children’s parents ought to be commended for their dedication and inventiveness.
