Spreading Light Through Art

October 30, 2023

People with disabilities are able to accomplish incredible things in a variety of disciplines. A person’s potential and talents are not limited by their physical impairment. Many have achieved success in athletics, the arts, and other fields, and with the help of the people around them, they are able to overcome challenges and achieve their goals.

SCNs in Sanjeevani, Vasai, have been serving children with disabilities for many years. The children are able to be creative because of the facilities and support of the Sisters and teachers.

On the idyllic festival of Diwali, the students of Sanjeevani Special School, Vasai, dazzled everybody’s eyes with lights. Students spent time with their teachers, who taught them ways to produce candles and decorate Diyas (clay lamps).

The culmination of this piece of art by students is beyond description, and they left the audience in pleasant surprise. The outstanding work that was done by the students exhibits their distinctive skills and capabilities.

The SCNs appreciate the teacher’s patience and persistence in shepherding these students.

The children must have delighted in creating beauty that is so expressive of their culture. This is indeed an opportunity to express value in a people’s culture.
