Sisters prepare hurricane response
The Sisters of Charity of Nazareth have been responding to natural disasters since it’s founding. The team of Sisters and volunteers respond in the United States and other parts of the world where the Sisters are in ministry. After the storms have hit, they provide clean-up and prayerful support during the rebuilding efforts that occur after the 24-hour news coverage has ceased and moved on.
This November they will complete their commitment to helping with the cleanup after Hurricane Harvey in Houston, where communities are still rebuilding after more than a year. Next, they will begin to focus on the needs of communities in the southeastern part of the United States.
This year has been especially hard in these communities when dealing with strong tropical storms and hurricanes. The Sisters of Charity of Nazareth plan to help. With reverence for each person and witness to God’s presence in the midst of adversity, they continue to put their faith into action. Your gifts allow the volunteers to offer spiritual and physical support to persons experiencing a disaster.
Sister Luke, the director of the SCN Lay Mission Volunteers, thanks you for your prayers and support. As her team prepares to respond to these disasters, would you consider a donation at this time?
