Several Sisters, including members of Central and Provincial Leadership, attended the Juneteenth Freedom Day Celebration in Nelson County, Ky. The Sisters met with community members, event organizers and representatives of the NAACP.

Juneteenth, observed on June 19, is a federal holiday commemorating the emancipation of enslaved African Americans. The event took place around landmarks in Bardstown such as the Cherry Bowman Center, St. John AME Zion Church and First Baptist Church of Bardstown. The celebration featured song, spoken word and dance, tours of the Bardstown-Nelson County African American Heritage Museum, community vendors and more.
