Serving others

Lay volunteers from around the United States enter into ministry with the Sisters of Charity of Nazareth in Belize, Botswana, India, New Orleans, Appalachia, and areas in need of disaster response.

Mark and Cindy Rhonemus have been volunteering with the SCN Volunteer Mission Program since 2015. For their most recent trip to Las Flores, Belize, they raised all of the funds needed to complete a home for a family in need.

This cross-cultural partnership, especially with the oppressed, economically poor, and marginalized, in areas where Sisters are called to mission, creates a deepening relationship for peace and justice in the world. Cindy and Mark’s involvement with the Sisters of Charity of Nazareth through mission trips and disaster relief programs has truly impacted the lives of many people. Their love for serving others is evident in all they do and the Sisters thank them for it.

Proud and grateful beyond words! Way to reveal the love of Christ to the folks of Las Flores and to the rest of us as well! You two are truly “blessed to be a blessing”!

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. 2 Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters.

3 And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light.
