New Delhi – On Jan. 30, 2023, more than 1,000 people gathered at Jantar Mantar to participate in a protest rally organized by renowned social activist Miss. Medha Patkar. The rally, titled “Nafrat Chodo Samvidhan Bachao” (Quit Hate, Save the Constitution), aimed to safeguard the Indian Constitution and promote love, peace, and harmony in the country.
Representatives from various political parties joined forces with citizens of goodwill to raise their voices against the growing disharmony in the country. The protesters carried posters, banners, and slogans calling for unity. Sisters Vandana Velleringatt and Kitamai (Kita) Catherine Sinku were among the participants.
Several speakers addressed the gathering, highlighting the pressing issues affecting the nation and calling for citizens to come together in solidarity. The rally was held on the martyrdom day of Mahatma Gandhi and concluded with a tribute to him and present-day martyrs.
The demonstration was a show of strength for the peaceful and harmonious society that the protesters envisioned for India. The “Nafrat Chodo Samvidhan Bachao” rally was a call to action for citizens to join forces and work towards a better future for the country.
