In this this sacred season of Lent, we are invited once again to journey deeper into the heart of Christ, and further into the lives of others. We invite you to support an effort that demonstrates the important commitment of advancing education for children and caring for God’s creation.

In Leonardtown, Maryland, the Sisters of Charity of Nazareth are establishing a new Nature Center at Camp Maria to address a critical need. A major downsizing of programs offered by a local environmental science center left schools and families without essential hands-on learning experiences. The new Nature Center at Camp Maria will provide an engaging, interactive environment where students and visitors can explore the interconnectedness of living things and their surroundings along Breton Bay.
With your support we can bring this vision to life. This Lenten season reminds us of the importance of generosity and the lasting impact it can have on future generations by providing access to environmental education and meaningful connections to creation.
Your gift will support curriculum development and transform an existing space into an immersive nature and discovery room. Educational resources such as aquariums, microscopes, and field guides will enrich the learning experience. The Nature Center will complement outdoor exploration with hands-on activities, including water quality testing, observing local aquatic life, and exploring the Chesapeake Bay watershed.
The Nature Center is set to open in 2025, offering schools and community groups valuable opportunities to connect with nature and cultivate a sense of responsibility for creation.
Will you join us in this mission?
This Lent, we invite you to walk with us in our mission to extend kindness where it is most needed. Will you please consider making a gift to support the Nature Center to educate future generations with a deeper understanding of the environment?
Thank you for your support in this important mission to educate and inspire through a deeper connection with nature.
Thank you.
Thank you for your generosity in supporting environmental education and helping future generations connect with creation.
