Recently, Presentation Academy students and faculty members gathered in St. Vincent de Paul Chapel for a blessing and commissioning before their upcoming mission experience in Belize. Sisters Luke Boiarski, director of the SCN Volunteer Ministry, and Amrita Manjaly, Vice President of the Congregation, sent forth six student volunteers — Emma Diehl, Zoe Eme, Madeline Galligan, Sloane Gregory, Magdalena Spalding, and Sophia Gosden — together with Sister Amina Bejos and Olivia Atkinson. From Oct. 10-19, 2025, the group will travel to the village of Las Flores to help build a home for a family in need. Their work will be carried out in partnership with Cindy and Mark Rhonemus of San Miguel Missions.

This project is possible through the generosity of the Dwyer family. Special gratitude is offered to Sister Mary Assumpta Dwyer, a former teacher at Presentation Academy, whose family’s support makes the mission possible.

Sister Luke led a follow-up orientation at Nazareth Home in Louisville. Excitement continues to build as the group prepares for departure.

It was an exciting and joyful time for all as preparations came together. Special thanks go to Sister Amina Bejos and Olivia Atkinson for guiding and accompanying this group of young women as they set out for Las Flores, Belize, on Oct. 10.
