Planting Party in Pittsburgh

Due to a rainy forecast for Earth Day, the Sisters residing at Caritas Apartments in Pittsburgh got a headstart on caring for the earth. A planting party was held to plant flowers for their patios as well as in the courtyard shared by all. After the hard work was done, everyone relaxed and enjoyed each other’s company.

Everyone will reconvene after Mother’s Day to plant tomatoes and peppers. These plants are still in the seedling stage.
Meanwhile, Caritas Support Services is awaiting 175 barerooted native trees and shrubs from the Pennsylvania 10 Million Tree project to plant across the Pittsburgh property to start the long journey to recreate a self-sustaining ecosystem.
