On September 19, 2023, Pabalelong Hospice in Botswana hosted a gathering for recently discharged patients. Out of the 36 patients who were invited to join in the celebration, approximately 16 were able to attend in person with the support of their caregivers.

The patients received a warm welcome from Sunila Erumangalathu, SCN, and the dedicated hospice team. The event was marked by moments of prayer, storytelling, and a heartfelt lunch lovingly prepared by the hospice staff. Notably, one participant, who happened to be blind, regaled the group with a delightful comedy routine and a series of jokes.

During this gathering, the patients openly shared their cherished memories while expressing profound gratitude to God and deep appreciation for the hospice’s care. The occasion proved to be a deeply moving and inspirational experience for all who participated. The day was filled with love, laughter, and the joy of being together at the hospice.

As a token of their appreciation, each was sent off with a small gift.
