Outdoor Reflection on Creation

Sisters gathered outdoors at Nazareth for reflection on the Season of Creation this day, Sept. 13. Under the gazebo they turned inwards as they were “Listening to the Voices of Creation,” the theme for the Season of Creation. With three lit candles symbolizing the voices of women, voices of indigenous people, and species with whom we share our home, they prayed for our vibrant world.

Before the closing prayer, Sister Rosemarie Kirwin released one of the butterflies she raised from a caterpillar. After resting on her finger it flew out into the wide open spaces of the campus grounds and into the air, reminding us to always, “listen to the voices of our mothers and sisters and learn to treasure and protect the web of life.”

We need to do outdoor reflection/ meditation very often. The closed space we are so used prevent the creation to penetrate us!
