The Orphans and Vulnerable Children’s Center at Mmopane Village in Botswana has 45 children this year between the ages of 3 to 6 years, who are from very poor socio-economic backgrounds. Some are orphans, some are on antiretroviral drugs, and others are children of people living with HIV and AIDs. This is a center run by the Sisters of Charity of Nazareth with the objective of providing good nutrition and enhancing physical, intellectual and emotional development of children at an early age.
June and July are the coldest months of winter in Botswana. Vinaya Chalil, SCN, is the coordinator of this center. She noticed many children without proper warm cloths during this winter. Some of the children were coming to the center without even wearing socks. Sister Vinaya purchased warm cloths and tracksuits for all of the children. A generous family donated socks and caps. Donations were also received from U.S. donors.
Sister Vinaya wishes to thank those who have donated for the children in Botswana. She says, “Your generosity and thoughtfulness have made a difference in these children, especially during this winter. Thank you for being partners in our ministry in Botswana.”

Good Morning,
I would really like to plan a Santa Shoebox project and am enquiring how many children you care for at present and their ages. It has been a tough year for all, but we all know that a gift no matter how small for Christmas can really make a child’s heart happy. These boxes are filled with basics like a face cloth, soap, a toothbrush and toothpaste, a small toy, a sweet and an item of clothing. I would need children numbers, their ages and whether boys or girls.

Hello!
We are 2 chilean psychologists from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile and we are interested in participating in some international volunteering for about 5- 6 months , related to our profession, whether in the clinical, educational or community area, or where it is most needed help.
One of us, know about Theraplay and the other know about Art-therapy and we want to use this knowledge at the service of children and their families. We love what you do and we are really interested in collaborating at your place.
We want to go at May. Do you think we can be useful at your centre?
Thanks,
