In Nazareth, Kentucky, the Sisters of Charity of Nazareth gathered to bless a new local community house. Sisters Rekha Kerketta and Higinia Bol were missioned in a special ceremony as they prepare to serve in the parish of St. Peter Claver in the Toledo District.

The community gathered in prayer and support as the two Sisters received a candle lit from the newly lit paschal candle, symbolizing their mission to bring light to those they encounter. Words of encouragement and blessing were offered throughout the ceremony.

During the blessing, the Sisters affirmed their commitment:
“As Sisters of Charity of Nazareth we are women rooted in faith who have answered the call of Jesus Christ to ongoing conversion to Gospel values in a vowed way of life.”

The sending community prayed: “Receive the light Rekha and Higinia as you bring your light to all you meet. May you also receive their blessing of light.”

The prayer continued with blessings of strength, patience, and hope.

“May the God of strength be with you, holding you in strong, loving hands…
May the God of patience be with you, waiting for you with outstretched arms…
May the God of hope be with you, bringing you courage when you experience discouragement…”

Sisters Rekha and Higinia fly to Belize on Tuesday, April 22. Please hold them in prayer as they begin this new chapter of ministry and service.
