Nepal Republic Day, observed on May 28, honors the nation’s transition to a federal democratic republic after the monarchy was dissolved in 2008. This day celebrates the triumph of democracy with parades, cultural festivities, and the hoisting of the national flag. It is an occasion to look back on past achievements and renew the pledge to create a better future for Nepal.

Gifts and sweets are also commonly exchanged.

This beautiful tradition was creatively and meaningfully celebrated by the Sisters of Charity of Nazareth in Vasai.

After attending events in Minneapolis, she stopped at the Motherhouse on her way to Houston, Texas, with her brother and niece. Sister Rose serves in Rajgir, overseeing a hostel for children.
