Usually, around the Easter season, LIFE Belize plans an outing for the seniors they serve. Because of COVID-19 restrictions, they were not able to do the annual trip. However, that did not stop them. Sister Carlette led the initiative to take the party to them! Fried rice, fried chicken with vegetables, and freshly squeezed orange juice were made. Good hampers were packed and hot cross buns were baked. All these were delivered to each senior in the program along with handmade cards. LIFE would like to thank all who assisted to make the day possible. Click here to see more photos.
In a Remote Belizean Village, the Spirit of St. Vincent de Paul Thrives
The village of San Vincente, located on the edge of the Guatemalan border, might appear to be an unexpected locale to find the enduring spirit of St. Vincent de Paul. Yet, it’s here that a small but vibrant Catholic Church, named in honor of the saint, stands as a symbol of his legacy.
Sr Carlette,
Someone from your past!
This is sisters Julie Marie Peters, SSM. You did the Religious Formation Programme in St. Lucia with me years back. I still remember the lovely Mango Bread that you made. Great to see you in action in the tradition of your community. Thank you for all that you are doing for the poor. I am sure that it gives you great joy.
How is Sr. Mary Lee King? and how is Sr. Margaret, as well? I think of them often. My days at Spalding and with your sisters were just great formative years. I am presently in Rome serving on the General Council. I hope to be back in the Caribbean in the next two years.
Please keep up your good work and take care of yourself.
Blessings, JM
Is that your Mama’s kitchen I recognize in the background? You keep on going girl fried! You make us proud to call you friend. I can see Jesus smiling as He watches you work. God bless! Looking forward to seeing you! We send our love. Hugs to all your LIFE family!❤️
Sister Carlette,
Thanks for the beautiful gift of “giving” that exemplifies your work! Indeed my mouth watered for the hot cross buns – a traditional item in our home when Mother was physically with us.
To our God be the glory!
I met Sister Carlette as I was passing by her residence yesterday. I stopped to ask about two of my friends who used to live there, Sr. Maggie Cooper and Sr. Barbara. The Sisters of Charity Nazareth are doing such fabulous work here in Belize. An inspiration to all.
Sister Carlette,
Such a delicious Easter meal. You are such a gift to all.
Happy Easter season to you.
You are truly amazing Sr. Carlette!
Simply awesome!
Carlette, you are the hands and feet of Christ and a true daughter of Catherine!
It looks to me like you’re not only in Mommy’s kitchen, but you’ve put her to work again. I know your seniors appreciated your care for them. May your tribe increase.
Sr. Carlette you inspire me. I admire you and all you do, thank you Debbie Community Service
