Journey through Advent

December 5, 2019

Approximately 50 Sisters and Associates gathered on Sunday, December 1, 2019 to begin Advent in prayer, sharing and socializing. The gathering was sponsored by the Louisville Area Network Associates. During our time together, we reflected on the scripture passage Luke 1:39 – 45, SCN Foundation Day, immigration and our participation in the journey today. We “journeyed” with Mary, Elizabeth and Catherine as we asked ourselves, “what new life we are called to birth this Christmas?” Sr. Julie Driscoll shared with us some information regarding immigration. We then spent time in small groups sharing our experiences related to the journey of immigrants. We joined Mary and Elizabeth in celebrating the joy of relationship with refreshments and socializing. Once again, individuals were encouraged to bring a donation of personal items for UP (Uniting Partners for Women and Children), a day shelter for women in Louisville. The items were delivered to UP where they were graciously received and appreciated. May God continue to guide us on our journey through Advent.
