Bridget Kappalumakal, SCN, shares the following report from the Golden Jubilee Celebration at Kallanode on April 30, 2022.

The auspicious day, April 30, 2022, was welcomed in by natural fireworks and music in the form of thunder, lightning, strong wind and heavy rains overnight, pouring out God’s blessings upon the Jubilarian, Sister Sheela Palamoottil.

The Eucharistic celebration was presided over by Father Sebastian Palamoottil, rector, Pontifical Seminary, Aluve, and cousin of Sister Sheela. The parish priest of Kallanode, Father Mathew Nirappel and Father Joseph Edattu, V.C. were the concelebrants. Sister Amrita Manjaly, provincial, Sister Ann Palatty, previous provincial, and 10 other Sisters of Charity of Nazareth were present for the occasion along with many of Sister Sheela’s family, other religious Sisters, and representation of the laity from the Parish.

Sister Sheela Palamoottil renews her vows.

Sister Amrita Manjaly gave a befitting introduction highlighting the 50 years of missionary journey of Sister Sheela Palamoottil. Then, Sister Sheela lit the beautifully decorated Golden Jubilee Candle. After the Intercessory prayers, Sister Sheela carried a basket of fruits and offered it as a symbol of her total surrender to God and then she renewed the vows.

The Holy Eucharist was followed by a short felicitation ceremony. Sister Sheela expressed her deep gratitude by thanking everyone who helped to make this Jubilee celebration a great success. At the end of a very meaningful function, we all enjoyed a delicious meal.

We are deeply honored that we could celebrate this great event of Sister Sheela’s Golden Jubilee at Kallanode. May God bless her abundantly and lead her toward the many more years yet to come.
