What will we be about?

We will focus on meeting people, learning about their culture, making friends and sharing faith, while we work side-by-side with the people of Belize. We will work in collaboration with Hand in Hand ministries to build a simple 16×20 home for a family in need.

What is my cost if I want to join the group and participate in the build?

Trip cost is $1,850 and includes round-trip airfare from Louisville, KY, lodging and most meals. It does not include personal purchases, dining out, or optional travel insurance.

How long is the Immersion Trip?

Your time in Belize will be from Sunday to Saturday, however orientation will begin on the Friday evening before your departure to Belize. It you are traveling from out of town lodging will be available at the St. Joseph Volunteer House on Nazareth campus. We will begin with a meet & greet and dinner on Friday evening. Saturday you will begin with a commissioning ceremony at St. Vincent Church followed by lunch and orientation.

What is the typical size of group?

Typically up to 12 volunteer per trip.

Typical Schedule

Day 1 (Friday) – Arrive at Nazareth Campus

Day 2 (Saturday) – Commissioning Ceremony & Orientation

Day 3 (Sunday) – Depart to Belize

Day 4 (Monday) – Begin house build

Day 5 (Tuesday) – Continue house build

Day 6 (Wednesday) – Continue house build

Day 7 (Thursday) – Finish house & House blessing

Day 8 (Friday) – Day at Caye Caulker

Day 9 (Saturday) – Depart to Nazareth, KY

The cost to build the standard home begins at $5,500 and includes plumbing. You can add electricity and aluminum shutters for an additional cost.
