Earth Day Cleanup at Nazareth

Join the Sisters of Charity of Nazareth’s Office of Ecological Sustainability for an Earth Day Cleanup this Earth Day: Friday, April 22, 2022 from 9:00-11:00 am at Nazareth.

Volunteers are invited to check in outside of the SCN Center on Nazareth’s campus, gather in prayer before dispersing, and set off across Nazareth’s campus to collect litter and trash from the land and waterways. Light refreshments and cleanup supplies will be provided.

This cleanup is registered with the Great Global Cleanup, a worldwide campaign to remove billions of pieces of trash from neighborhoods, beaches, rivers, lakes, trails, and parks — reducing waste and plastic pollution, improving habitats, and preventing harm to wildlife and humans.

To register, contact AmeriCorps volunteer Julia Gerwe at or (502) 348-1573.

In uprightness of Earth Day, SCN Associates and friends pulled down over 2 miles of a rural wayside in Nelson County, Kentucky. Funds raised over the county roadside cleanup program will manage the SCN Disaster Relief program. A big thank you to the beautiful group of women who came out to aid today at Doors to Hope with the SCN Lay Mission Volunteer Program! Led by the love of Christ, the Sisters of Charity of Nazareth devote their lives to God by directing the requirements of mistreated people, particularly women and children. It was discovered in Kentucky over 200 years ago, the Sisters minister in India, Nepal, Belize, Botswana and the US today. The Great Global Cleanup’s aim is to keep away a billion pieces of scrap from our parks, beaches, cities, waterways, and wherever waste is discovered. Cleanups can be systematized in small groups constant with local instructions, or even on an individual level. It’s one of the simplest ways to securely get outdoors, decorate your community, and take part in Earth Day.

To tell the truth, it is so cool that there is such an event as Earth Day Cleanup because it is a truly noble cause which will contribute to improving the ecological situation in Nazareth’s surroundings. I would like to say that there need to be more such events as this one in our world because thanks to them our planet is moving in small steps towards global positive changes which will lay the foundation of a new reality. It is so cool that people can make their own contribution to improving the environment and I think it is really pleasant to be a volunteer for such a great job because it is the best opportunity to feel and become better. Without any doubts, every help is so valuable and every help makes a huge difference. I hope that a lot of people will not be indifferent to this event and express their best qualities.
