The time together brought lots of joy and great bonding to everyone present. The greatest joy for Nimala Mulackal, SCN, was the realization that all the girls are “daughters of the soil.” They are all from Bihar and a majority of them are from neighboring villages of Mokama where Nazareth Hospital is. They have been empowered by the quality of the nursing education they received and chose to stay in their own communities to serve their marginalized neighbors. It was very encouraging to hear from them that they are keeping up with the spirit of compassionate care and are furthering the very mission of caring for the sick, begun by the SCNs in Bihar.
