For children undergoing stress from natural disasters, students at Mother Catherine Academy in Mechanicsville, Maryland, donated shoe boxes filled with gifts to the Sisters of Charity of Nazareth volunteer program. The volunteer team is storing them to be taken out on the next disaster relief mission. The unconditional gesture of God’s love by the children of Mother Catherine Academy is sure to lift the spirits to those who need it most in a time of hardship. Each shoe box is individually wrapped in vibrant colors and filled with personal items and school supplies, as well as fun activities and small toys for the kids to play with. Some boxes contain personalized notes and are marked for a girl or boy and approximate age.

In 2017, Mother Catherine Academy entered into a Covenant Agreement with the Sisters of Charity of Nazareth. Read more about the covenant relationship here.
