On Sunday, Sept. 28, 2025, LIFE’s seniors gathered at St. Martin’s Parish to celebrate International Day of Older Persons under the theme “Older Persons Driving Local and Global Action: Our Aspiration, Our Well-Being, Our Rights.” Seniors from HelpAge Belize joined in the celebration.
The seniors participated in the readings, presented the offertory, and took part in the celebration of the Eucharist. After Mass, they received a snack and a gift package. This event marked the beginning of a week dedicated to celebrating our senior citizens.

Cudos to you, skinny Carlette! Just look how your inspiration became a dream and how the dream has grown! It looks as if it was a special event with participation in the liturgy. How good that another group of seniors joined you! You will grow with each other in living out the commandment of Jesus to love. Elizabeth Seton would say “Hazard yet forward!” I’m sure Mother Catherine said something similar but I don’t know what it would be.
