Synod delegate shares her perspective

Spirit of the Wild Day Camp at Nazareth Engages Youth

The Nazareth Retreat Center hosted a successful Spirit of the Wild day camp on July 17, engaging around 40 students in third through eighth grade. The camp focused on ecology, mindfulness, and exploration, offering activities such as ecology-centered arts and crafts, mindfulness walks, meditation sessions, creek and community garden explorations, and habitat studies.

UofL Health – Mary & Elizabeth Hospital, the region’s only full-service hospital west of I-65, is celebrating 150 years of serving a medically underserved South Louisville community with compassionate and quality care. Originally founded by the Sisters of Charity of Nazareth in 1874, the 298-bed hospital has served generations of patients with medical innovation and continues to expand its services.

For Rest – Forest Therapy

A certified Forest Therapy Guide with a deep love for nature, Sister Kelly volunteers at Bernheim Arboretum, is a National Association for Interpretation member, and has studied environmental issues. Through the Nazareth Retreat Center, Sister Kelly leads immersive nature walks to promote health and wellness by connecting with the land.
