During her first visit to Nepal, SCN Vice President Sister Amrita Manjaly met women whose lives have changed through the ministries of the Sisters of Charity of Nazareth. Their stories of perseverance, economic independence, stronger families, and hope demonstrated how opportunity, support, and community can strengthen women and those they love.

Women affected by gender violence struggle to find work and rebuild their lives. At Navjyoti Center Surkhet, the Sisters of Charity of Nazareth provided tailoring training while the municipality donated sewing machines. Together, they are helping 10 women gain income, confidence, independence and hope for the future.

On June 6, 2026, the Sisters of Charity of Nazareth hosted a beautiful graduation ceremony for 19 inspiring young women at Navjyoti Centre Kathmandu. The event was organized to honor their hard work as they step into bright futures.

The Nepal Water Project reflects the Gospel call to care for our neighbors and uphold the dignity of every person. Rooted in the values of Catholic Social Teaching, this effort recognizes access to clean water as essential to human well being and the common good. Through partnership with the local community, the Sisters of Charity of Nazareth are living their mission to care for all creation and stand in solidarity with those on the margins, helping create conditions where families can thrive and communities can flourish.
