Career Guidance at Nazareth Convent High School

December 5, 2023

Within ourselves lies the power to shape our destinies. As aptly expressed by William Shakespeare, “It is not in the stars to hold our destiny but in ourselves.” Our lives are the result of our architectural endeavors, whether we construct a magnificent structure or a dilapidated dwelling. Constructing a grand edifice demands self-awareness, labor, and concerted effort. Recognizing the importance of this, Nazareth Convent High School aimed to empower its tenth-grade students to identify their talents, interests, capacities, and capabilities to make informed choices about their future careers.

To facilitate this journey, Mr. Prakash Almeida, the Founder and Director of the Career Development Centre in Vasai, was invited to guide the students. The school organized a seminar for both students and their parents, and the turnout exceeded expectations. Mr. Almeida effectively elucidated various career paths, detailing associated colleges and the current demands in the professional world. He shed light on lesser-known career fields that many in Vasai might not be aware of, providing valuable insights. The interactive session saw students seeking guidance on specific queries, and Mr. Almeida adeptly addressed their concerns. The seminar proved to be a valuable resource in steering our students toward making informed career choices.
