May 6, 2023, will be a memorable day in the life of Sisters Priyanka Murmu, Sweta Basky, Paulina Murmu, Rajnima Soreng and Ritika Lakra. On this day, in the presence of their parents, family members, priests from different parishes and many SCNs, they made their Perpetual Vows (Priyanka Murmu and Sweta Baskey) and First Vows (Paulina Murmu, Rajnima Soreng and Ritika Lakra) during a solemn Eucharistic celebration at Nazareth Convent, Mokama.

The vow group was welcomed with an entrance dance and they were accompanied by their parents. Sister Sushma Bodra welcomed the congregation and Sister Josephine Kisku explained the rituals. Archbishop Rev. Sebastian Kallpura officiated the Holy Eucharistic Celebration along with ten other priests. In an inspiring homily, Archbishop exhorted the Sisters to follow in the footsteps of Jesus, who called them. Jesus’ mission was to the poor and downtrodden. Our Call, too, is for compassionate service to the marginalized and excluded. Abundant blessings will follow if we witness to a life of honesty, simplicity and integrity.

As a sign of welcoming these five Sisters to the SCN Congregation, Sister Latika Kottuppallil, Provincial, Patna, presented rings to Priyanka Murmu and Sweta Basky, who took Perpetual Vows and SCN medals to Paulina Murmu, Rajnima Soreng and Ritika Lakra who took First Vows. At the end of the Mass, on behalf of the group, Sisters Priyanka Murmu and Ritika Lakra gave a vote of thanks. The group was felicitated outside the chapel. Thereafter with beautiful dance and singing, the vow groups were taken to the dining hall. It was a joy to see a good number of family members present for this great occasion. The function concluded with a delicious meal. It was indeed a joyful day for all.
