Barbara Von Bokern, SCN, 76, was born in Covington, Kentucky. She died on Wednesday, Jan. 24, 2019, at Nazareth, Kentucky. She was a professed Sister of Charity of Nazareth for 55 years.
Sister Barbara served in educational ministries, teaching math and religion at St. Rita in Alexandria, Louisiana, St. Joseph in Bowling Green, Kentucky, and Presentation Academy in Louisville, Kentucky. She served as principal of St. Francis de Sales in Paducah, Kentucky, from 1968-1974, and at Community Catholic in Louisville from 1978-1998.
She served the SCN Community with her ministry in community service at Nazareth Home from 1998-2014.
Sister Barbara is survived by her siblings Bernard Von Bokern, Betty Herold, Darlene Hill, Jerry Von Bokern, David Von Bokern, Mary (“Bird”) Von Bokern, Shirley German; her extended family; and by her religious community.
Visitation will be held at Our Lady of Nazareth Chapel at Nazareth Home in Louisville on Monday, Jan. 28 from 9:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m.
The Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated Monday, Jan. 28 at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Nazareth Chapel. She will be received on Nazareth Campus in St. Vincent Chapel at 2:30 p.m. Jan. 28 for burial in the Nazareth Cemetery.

I was so sorry to hear of the death of Sr Barbara. My children went to Community Catholic School she was a great help to me plus she was fun to be around.
