Nazareth School, Banakal celebrated the International Environment Day on June 4, 2022. This year’s theme, ‘Only One Earth,’ mirrored the theme of the first World Environment Day in 1973 and reiterates our urgent need for relentless action to save the earth. The Chief Guest for the day was Dr. Shivaprasad, Professor of Agronomy and Associate Director of Research, Mudigere. Students displayed a program based on saving the environment and cited the causes of deforestation.

Shivaprasad, in his message, said that conserving and maintaining the healthy environment is the basic need of the day. He also insisted that we reduce the usage of insecticide, pesticide and agricultural chemicals. Every commemoration of this day reminds us to move towards sustainable living and to protect our environment from pollution, deforestation, global warming, over population etc.

As part of the celebrations, the Shivaprasad along with the staff and students planted the sapling to remind us that this day calls us for to celebrate, protect and restore our planet. We at Banakal surely experience the gift of fresh air, clean water and the yields of earth abundantly.
