Sister Carlette and Sister Kerry made a recent trip to Punta Gorda, Belize, to visit with Sister Rekha and spend time together. A year ago, in April of 2025, Sister Rekha answered the call from Belize to be in ministry with Sister Higinia Bol in the District of Toledo. After all the hard work of obtaining her official papers for her Temporary Employment Permit (TEP), she is now ready to serve in full-time ministry.
At present, Sister Rekha is assisting at Saint Peter Claver Primary School, collaborating with the teachers and the principal to prepare the students for confirmation.
She is also working on developing youth groups in the villages. She has visited about 20 of the 32 churches so far. She has spoken with and identified staff, Catechists, elders, and others interested in working with her to form these youth groups.
She is also working to accompany the priests to different villages to gain a deeper understanding of the people and the culture.
Overall, Sister Rekha is excited about her ministry and enthusiastic about the many possibilities to utilize her gift!
