On August 15th, a donor appreciation event was held at Camp Maria Retreat Center (CMRC) to gather with and thank those who have so generously given financial and/or volunteer support to the ministry of Camp Maria. Around 70 people were in attendance, which began with a luncheon and short presentation that included an introduction of current CMRC leadership and a snapshot of recent accomplishments and upcoming initiatives of this ministry.
Two former directors of CMRC – Sister Carol McKean, SCN (1997 – 2008) and Ann Kovalcik, SCNA (2011 – 2024) were present, along with several other Sisters of Charity of Nazareth and Associates.
Following the luncheon, guests had time to explore new and updated spaces and enjoy the grounds of Camp Maria before celebrating Mass together at the outdoor chapel. The Mass celebrated the Feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary. To read the homily offered by Sister Chris Kunze, SCN, click here.
Camp Maria Retreat Center and the Sisters of Charity of Nazareth are so grateful to the donors, board and committee members, volunteers, and staff, whose generous spirit and support are an integral part in carrying out this ministry.
