With joy and gratitude, the Sisters of Charity of Nazareth, Associates, parish priest, assistant parish priest, and the faithful gathered at Kanye for a prayer service to open the Jubilee Year.
The program began with thanks and praise to God for His abundant blessings on the Botswana Mission. The Sisters presented the history of the Botswana Mission, read the charism of the Sisters of Charity of Nazareth, shared the activities planned for the Jubilee Year, and officially declared the Jubilee Year open.
“On this special occasion, Rev. Father Gofaone Pheto, the parish priest of Kanye, acknowledged and appreciated the Sisters of Charity of Nazareth for their service in the parishes and the Diocese of Gaborone,” Sister Bibiana Kindo said. Father Pheto said he was touched and inspired by the selfless service of the Sisters. He emphasized the call to missionary work in another continent and thanked God for the presence of the Sisters of Charity of Nazareth in Botswana.
At the end of the celebration, a mango sapling was blessed and planted to mark the Jubilee Year.
